Catalog description

This course is designed to provide an inquiry-based approach to teaching in informal settings with a special emphasis on coastal themes. This course provides opportunities for experiential learning and the acquisition of interdisciplinary teaching and outreach methods. Connections among learning theories, the Next Generation Science Standards, and the New Jersey coast setting will be explored. This course will utilize a diversity of instructional methods and strategies to provide each student with the opportunity to adapt instruction to a broad and diverse audience making this course beneficial to students within and outside the School of Education. This course also has embedded field trip components.
