Catalog description

This course introduces the American criminal justice system, its history, structure, and core components: law enforcement, courts, and corrections. Students will gain a systematic and critical understanding of major concepts, theoretical foundations, and research methodologies in criminal justice as a social science. Emphasis is placed on substantive and procedural law, Constitutional principles, and New Jersey statutory law within the broader national framework.
