Catalog description

This course offers students an intensive 3-week medical shadowing experience, providing direct observational opportunities in international healthcare settings. Students will shadow healthcare professionals for 25-30 hours per week across diverse medical specialties while critically analyzing healthcare systems, cultural determinants of health, and professional practices. Through reflective assignments, research, and guided discussions, students develop intercultural competence, critical thinking, and transferable professional skills. This program enhances clinical exposure and prepares students for careers in healthcare. Added HE.EL Course Type as per USC February meeting. Prerequisites: BY-211 and BY-212 and Permission of the Instructor
