Humanistic Nursing Care of Children and Families

Catalog description
This Level III theory and clinical course focuses on the humanistic nursing care of children in the context of their families. The unique needs of infants, children, and adolescents experiencing illness and hospitalization are explored in relation to their growth and developmental needs. Nursing implications of genetics/genomics discussed as it relates to relevant illnesses of the child. This 4 credit course allocates three (3) credits (hour/week) for didactic learning and 1 credit for 36 hours face to face patient encounters plus 8 Clinical Learning Center hours (equivalent) with four hours of high fidelity simulation clinical experience.
