Catalog description

This course will provide a framework for making risk management decisions to increase business value and assess how firms seek to determine an appropriate risk appetite. The course will focus mostly on bank risk solutions as a foundation for non-insurable risks, products and policies, and the transition by all firms into enterprise risk management. Cybersecurity, as part of ERM/Operational Risk, will be reviewed including the risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems or from external events. Derivative products (swaps, futures) will be introduced for mitigating risk. Understanding the various risk typologies and their application to real market events both, past and present, will be a steady theme throughout the class.
