Catalog description

This introductory level course is a survey of three areas of contemporary composition including: creative writing, digital composition, and professional writing. The course prepares students in the writing track to practice their composition skills and hone interests for writing courses they will take in the future as well as career objectives. Students will be exposed to multiple writing genres and compositional norms and strategies within the three areas and will be asked to write both fiction and nonfiction. The assignments in this course will culminate in a writing portfolio. (Advanced writing course.)
