Catalog description

This course focuses on continuing to development basic communicative competency in the Modern spoken and written Mandarin. Students practice speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in Mandarin, as well as gain knowledge and understanding of the culture. Tones, standard accents and pronunciation are stressed at the early stage. Particular emphasis is placed on the systematic mastery of vocabulary and conversational skills. CHI 1020 is intended for students who have taken CHI 1010 or 3 or more years of Mandarin at the secondary level. NOTE: Open to first and second year students only, or to students enrolled at Molloy prior to Fall 2019.
