Catalog description

This is an introductory course to the wide variety of organisms that live in the oceans, the habitats they occupy, their evolutionary adaptations for thriving in those environments, and how species interact with each other and their environment. The course will include an examination of energy flow through marine systems, the evolution of marine life, and the taxonomy and classification of marine organisms. The course will also highlight current conservation challenges that threaten marine life, such as climate change, overfishing, and various forms of pollution.
