Catalog description

Offered: F, Sp. This seminar course is designed to book-end the MAT program; students will complete it in conjunction with the culminating experience in a secondary school environment. Students will discuss and problem solve the practical, philosophical, ethical, instructional, management, and legal challenges they have encountered related to working in a secondary school. Further, they will consider interpersonal relations, as these apply to teaching diverse learners. To be taken concurrently with EDU 608. Prerequisite: A minimum 3.0 GPA in major, achievement of a passing score on the appropriate MoCA (i.e., content area assessment) in the area of certification. Section information text: Full 16-week session Though the coursework is 100% online, this class will meet via Zoom from 7:00 - 8:00 PM on the following Mondays, 8/31/26, 09/28/26, 10/26/26, and 11/30/26. All students should have reliable access to a web camera and the internet for video conferencing.
