Offered: F, Sp. This exploratory course provides concrete exposure to the principles and practices being taught in EDU 563, as well as the opportunity to observe teaching, assist students, and experience the cultural climate of a school. Students will be required to find their own placement for this experience, within the area in which they are seeking initial teaching licensure. Thirty clock hours of observation are required for successful completion of this course, which will be graded credit/failure. The Department of Education must approve all placements before observation begins. To be taken concurrently with EDU 563. Prerequisites: Acceptance to the MAT program. Section information text: First 7-week session This course must be taken concurrently with EDU 563. This is an off campus practicum placement in an approved school. Students must fill out a placement form prior to registering. Off-campus experience, students must provide their own transporation. All communication for the course will take place via Canvas or MWSU email. There will be an orientation during EDU 563's class the first week of school. Students must have a DESE account and have a background check on file. This course may be waitlisted through the online registration system.
