Catalog description

Credit Hours: 3 Application, evaluation, and sequencing of primary and secondary diagnosis codes (ICD-10-CM) according to current coding regulations and guidelines. Students are provided the opportunity to utilize software in the completion of HIM processes, such as, determining the accuracy of computer assisted coding assignment and recommendations of corrective actions and, identifying discrepancies between supporting documentation and coded data, and application and evaluation of diagnosis related groupings. Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or better in ALH 116 . Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Semesters Offered: On Demand
