Classical Japanese Literature in Translation

Catalog description

This course is an exploration of classical Japanese literary masterpieces and the world from which they arose. It is conducted in English, and all required readings will be in English translation. No prior study of Japanese is required. This course may be retaken for credit provided the two versions of the course are sufficiently distinct. This course counts toward the Global Perspectives graduation requirement.
