Catalog description

Same as ANTHRO 3214 . This course studies the writing systems from around the world leads to appreciation for one of humankind's most important technological inventions. Students will explore the origins and development of writing systems over time, the linguistic classification of writing, and the transmission of writing across languages and cultures. This course counts toward the Global Perspectives graduation requirement.
