Catalog description

Prerequisites: ENGL 3100 (may be taken concurrently). This course is designed to develop historical thinking and research skills. Students will read historical sources, exploring the rhetoric of history, identifying perspectives in historical sources, investigating the process of formulating historical questions, and building research plans. Other topics covered may include proper citation procedures and historiography. The course is writing intensive and will involve primary source research at libraries and archives.
