Catalog description

Same as ANTHRO 1041 . This course considers womanhood, manhood, third genders, and sexuality in a broad cross-cultural perspective. It examines gender roles and sexuality within the broader cultural contexts of ritual and symbolism, family, marriage and kinship, economy, politics, and public life. This course will help students understand the cultural logics that separate females, males, and sometimes third genders into different groups in different societies. This course counts toward the Global Perspectives graduation requirement.
