Catalog description

This course introduces students to the field of geospatial science. Students will engage with key geospatial concepts, technologies, and applications such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and cartography and explore the broad impacts of these technologies across various industries and disciplines. Topics may include the collection and analysis of geospatial data, the creation of maps, the role of emerging technologies like drones and virtual reality, and the diverse career opportunities available in geospatial science. This course satisfies the Information Literacy Core General Education requirement.
