Catalog description

Prerequisites: A minimum campus GPA of 2.0; FINANCE 2500 or consent of instructor and the department chair. The course is designed to give students an understanding of the retirement planning process. Students will gain an appreciation of the usefulness (and shortcomings) of employee benefits and develop an ability to counsel others on important retirement and employee benefit decisions. Corporate pension and profit sharing plans, self-employed Keough plans, IRA's, annuities, health insurance, and social security will be discussed.
