Technical Writing

Catalog description

Prerequisites: ENGL 1100 or equivalent (3-6 hours) and 48 credit hours. This course introduces students to the major elements of industrial technical writing. Writing assignments may include technical definitions, abstracts and summaries, mechanism descriptions, instructions, process analyses, technical reports and proposals. The course also includes an introduction to research methods and documentation. This course satisfies the University's junior-level writing requirement and may not be taken on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory option.
