Prerequisites: Graduate standing. This course is an analysis of the criminal legal system (e.g. police, courts, jails and prisons, community organizations) as a social institution from different theoretical vantage points. Topics may include criminal legal system theory, theories of punishment, organizations, and the consequences of various penal processes and practices.
