Principles of Pharmacology

Catalog description

Prerequisites: BIOL 3622 or BIOL 3802 . This course covers the foundational principles of drug delivery, distribution and loss within the body (pharmacokinetics), and the molecular mechanisms of drug effects in the body (pharmacodynamics). To illuminate these principles, selected classes of drugs will be discussed in regard to delivery, distribution within the body, mechanism of action, metabolism and elimination at both the qualitative and quantitative level. Students may not receive credit for both BIOL 4743 and BIOL 6743 .
