Provides an overview of human social and cultural developments in Mesoamerica and Andean South America from the first settlements over 20,000 years ago to the Spanish conquest. Focuses on events leading to and including the establishment of Classic Mayan and Aztec societies, and discusses changes that led to what was perhaps the largest nation on earth for its time, the Inca. This course counts toward the Global Perspectives graduation requirement.
