Introductory Topics in Anthropology

This course features special and current topics at the introductory level in the areas of social, cultural and physical anthropology and archaeology. The course examines the basic concepts and provides an understanding of the development of new trends and areas of study in the field of Anthropology. Topics will focus on the comparative study of non-Western cultures such as ecological practices in tribal societies; religious practices in prehistoric cultures; the roles of women across cultures; etc. Topics may vary and the course may be repeated provided topic is different. This course counts toward the Global Perspectives graduation requirement.
