Catalog description

This course examines the powers and limitations of the United States government, including: the institutional authority of the legislative, executive, and judicial departments; separation of powers; federalism; the commerce power, taxing and spending authority, and economic liberties. A careful study of U.S. Supreme court decisions is emphasized, with particular focus on the political, moral, and social impact these decisions have had on life in America. Prerequisite: PLS 101 . Recommended Prerequisite: 50 hours.
