Catalog description

Overview of major policy issues in urban transportation systems; interdependence of transportation with urban land use patterns. Discussion of sustainability and social impacts of transport systems. Problems of the present auto-dominated system examined, and alternative solutions analyzed in the context of the changing political/institutional environment. Cannot be taken Pass/Not Pass. May be taught concurrently with PLN 678. Cannot receive credit for both PLN 578 and PLN 678. Recommended Prerequisite: PLN 100 or PLN 370 .
