Statistical Programming for Data Science

Catalog description

Topics include processing data from multiple sources and of different types; presentation of complex data; programming statistical and machine learning algorithms; design, implementation and analysis of simulation studies. Other topics will be covered that reflect the current needs of data scientists. May be taught concurrently with MTH 649. Cannot receive credit for both MTH 549 and MTH 649. Cannot be taken Pass/Not Pass. Prerequisite: One of MTH 333 , MTH 345 , MTH 534 , MTH 540 , MTH 541 , MTH 545 , or MTH 547 ; or graduate standing with knowledge of calculus, statistics, and programming; or permission of instructor or department head.
