Catalog description

An examination of the basic principles, skills, and techniques of directing for both stage and film. Students will explore techniques for successful script/scene analysis, visualization, collaboration with cast and crew, and set management. By experiencing the art of performing and the differences between directing for stage and film, students will become more well-rounded directors. Through hands-on assignments and group work, students will gain practical experience in both areas of directing. Prerequisite: MED 472 .
