Writing for Television

Catalog description

An overview of TV writing, this course will focus on the foundations of structure, character, and conflict on the small screen. Students will outline and write part of both a ‘spec’ episode of an existing show and an original pilot. In addition, students will learn to collaborate in a writers’ room setting. Variable content course. May be repeated when project changes. May be taught concurrently with MED 668. Cannot receive credit for both MED 566 and MED 668 for the same project. Prerequisite: MED 360 .
