Immersive Media: Design and Production

Catalog description

This course introduces the foundations of immersive media, with an emphasis on ambisonics for immersive audio. Designed for students across disciplines, the course surveys the aesthetics, technologies, and production methods behind VR, AR, 360-degree video, and other spatial media. Students gain practical experience with ambisonic recording and immersive sound design while exploring how spatial audio enhances storytelling, interaction, and user engagement. Prerequisite: MED 361 or permission of instructor.
