Catalog description

An introduction to machine learning, data mining, and statistical pattern recognition. The course will also cover recent applications of machine learning, such as speech recognition, bankruptcy, credit fraud, customer churn, cancer predictions, and facial recognition. Software will be provided for hands-on experience using a feed-forward neural network optimized with a genetic algorithm for business analytics. Prerequisite: undergraduate business majors must be admitted to degree program.
