Business Practices and Pre-Internship Seminar

Catalog description

Sourcing and acquisition of a design internship are examined and development of pathways from education to employment. Course includes resume writing, phone, email and correspondence etiquette, portfolio design, both traditional and digital, and interview skills. Business principles and practices of interior design as a profession are also covered, exploring and preparing for varying career paths as an employee or owner of a design firm. Professional ethics are analyzed. Prerequisite: IDC 201 or concurrent enrollment; and IDC 241 .
