Catalog description

This course explores the use of materials and how they relate to the functionality of commercial environments including acoustical design, ergonomics, environmental attributes, FF&E considerations, and life cycle costs. An overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) impact on building codes and regulations is also presented. Topics of study will include accessibility, movement, travel distances, wayfinding, means of egress and design safety in the built environment. Prerequisite: IDC 140 .
