Civil War and Reconstruction

Catalog description

The sectional conflict, the Civil War, and Reconstruction examined from political, military, social, and economic perspectives, with emphasis on differing historical interpretations of the causes of the war, the South’s defeat, and the limits of Reconstruction. May be taught concurrently with HST 624. Cannot receive credit for both HST 524 and HST 624. Prerequisite: 50 hours.
