Catalog description
Study of America, 1780s-1840s. Topics will include the development of constitutional government and federalism, mix of republican ideology and capitalism, causes and results of the War of 1812, first and second political party systems, social reform, and economic development. May be taught concurrently with HST 621. Cannot receive credit for both HST 521 and HST 621. Prerequisite: 50 hours.
