Catalog description

Elementary theory of stress and strain, rock behavior, continuous structures, fracture theory, discontinuous structures and kinematics of plate motion. Field trips required. A grade of “C” or better is required in this course in order to take GLG 413 . Cannot be taken Pass/Not Pass. Prerequisite: GLG 314 and GLG 333 and GLG 334 or concurrent enrollment; and either MTH 137 (or higher) or PHY 123 (or higher).
