Catalog description

Basic understanding of the contemporary standards for using the internet to distribute and utilize geospatial data. Students will set up and maintain a WebGIS server, design maps, and publish maps to the WebGIS server. A major part of the course will examine the development of WebGIS applications that utilize the published WebGIS services. May be taught concurrently with GEO 662. Cannot receive credit for both GEO 562 and GEO 662. Prerequisite: GEO 561 .
