Catalog description

A survey of contemporary American poetry, which encompasses a selection of significant poets and traces the history and development of various literacy theories, schools, and movements, from New Criticism through more recent trends in both narrative and lyric modes. Variable content course. May be taught concurrently with WRT 671. Cannot receive credit for both ENG 571 and WRT 671 unless topic is different. Prerequisite: 60 hours.
