Catalog description

An overview of the philosophy and history of career and technology education; includes curriculum building with emphasis on critical thinking and reflective decision-making, problem-based learning, and the development of authentic assessments. Includes the planning of lessons, units, and development of teaching materials in the career and technology education discipline and practice implementation of such lessons. Completion of checkpoint II for the Professional Portfolio is a component of this course. Credited only on BSEd Family and Consumer Sciences major. Cannot be taken Pass/Not Pass. May be taught concurrently with CTE 612. Cannot receive credit for both CTE 512 and CTE 612. Prerequisite: CTE 335 ; and concurrent enrollment in CTE 507 ; and admitted to Teacher Education. Corequisite: CTE 507
