Therapeutic Play Activities for Hospitalized Children Pre-Internship Experience

Catalog description

This course will focus on the therapeutic aspects and developmental outcomes of play. Students will develop the skills needed to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate and therapeutic play interventions and activities with hospitalized children. This course will include a weekly clinical pre-internship experience under the supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist within a child life program at a local hospital. Prerequisite: admission into the CFD major-Child Life Option and CFD 354 .
