Catalog description

A cellular and molecular study of human respiratory system regulation and related diseases. Emphasis will be on the molecular mechanisms for normal and abnormal functions of the lungs, red blood cells, and gas diffusion. Current research topics and results will be introduced and discussed. May be taught concurrently with BMS 676. Cannot receive credit for both BMS 576 and BMS 676. Prerequisite: C or better or concurrent enrollment in BMS 542 ; or C or better in BMS 308 .
