Ecotoxicology

Catalog description

The study of ecological impacts of pollutants. Discussion of the major classes of pollutants, their fate in the environment, and impacts on organisms, populations, and communities. Key primary literature and how scientists use observation, experimentation, and models to answer questions regarding ecotoxicology are also discussed. Cannot be taken Pass/Not Pass. May be taught concurrently with BIO 649. Cannot receive credit for both BIO 549 and BIO 649. Prerequisite: BIO 122 .
