Catalog description

The interdisciplinary study of running waters, including study of the physical and chemical environment, trophic interactions, nutrient cycling, and the multiple impacts of humans on modifying these systems. Lectures, group discussion of readings, and laboratory and field exercises. One all-day Saturday field trip required. May be taught concurrently with BIO 609. Cannot receive credit for both BIO 509 and BIO 609. Public Affairs Capstone Experience course. Prerequisite: BIO 367 and BIO 368 . Recommended Prerequisite: CHM 171 or higher.
