Catalog description

A detailed consideration of the archaeological study of complex societies, emphasizing the origins and development of social forms and institutions of the modern world such as social inequality, urbanism, and nation-states and empires. Case studies may be selected from Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. Prerequisite: ANT 305 or permission of instructor.
