Through comprehensive projects, students will collect, analyze, and interpret multi-source agricultural data-including yield, soil, imagery, and application datasets-to design and implement management solutions. Emphasis is placed on creating variable rate prescriptions for planting and spraying, diagnosing issues revealed through yield and imagery analysis, and effectively utilizing agricultural software platforms for data integration, visualization, and long-term storage. By the end of the course, students will demonstrate the ability to synthesize technical, agronomic, and economic data into actionable management plans that enhance productivity, efficiency, and sustainability in modern agriculture. May be taught concurrently with AGR 687. Cannot receive credit for both AGR 587 and AGR 687. Prerequisite: AGR 257 and AGR 457 . Recommended Prerequisite: AGR 467 or concurrent enrollment.
