Catalog description

F, S, SU 3 Credit Hours SRM Industry Project Planning is the first component for Sport and Recreation Management master’s students who choose the industry project option for their graduate capstone. This is an integrative course in which the students are expected to synthesize, integrate, and/or apply knowledge from previous coursework into a comprehensive industry project focusing on more than one area of the SRM discipline (e.g., marketing, risk management, facility management, event management, finance, etc.) based on the student’s concurrent work and/or internship experience. The proposed project should benefit the agent or organization. This course must be scheduled as a capstone project and taken one semester before the student’s final semester enrolled in the program. By the end of this course, the student will turn in a need assessment and a proposal outlining the goals, rationale, and outcome of the project. Prerequisite: EDUC 650
