Adult Development and Aging

Fall 3 Credit Hours This course explores adult development and aging from a lifespan perspective, addressing physical, cognitive, and social-emotional changes across young, middle, and older adulthood. Students will examine key theories and research methodologies, as well as the role of empirical evidence in understanding developmental processes. Topics include mental health, life transitions, wisdom, social relationships, career and retirement, and end-of-life issues. The course emphasizes both normative developmental patterns and individual differences, with a focus on positive aging. Prerequisite: PSY 100 with minimum grade of ‘C’ and 6 additional hours in Psychology. Prerequisites: PSY 0100 and 6 additional hours in Psychology
