Relational Leadership in K12 School Administration

Fall 3 Credit Hours A study of administrative philosophies, methods, and techniques as relate to the goals and objectives of a K12 school setting. Particular emphasis is placed on leadership responsibilities related to initiating and cultivating two-way communication and relationships with families and communities. Students will also learn how to engage families, community, and school personnel in strengthening student learning in schools. This course will prepare students to build and sustain strong partnerships with families and the community (including the public and private sector) to promote student learning and development. Fifty hours of internship are built into the course, including mandatory required activities under the guidance of a qualified local area Cooperating Administrator. Prerequisite: Approval by advisor
