Curriculum for Teaching English Language Learners

Fall 3 Credit Hours Explores the principles and practices of instructional materials development for English Language Learners (ELLs). Students will define key terminology and identify commonly used materials in TESOL classrooms. Emphasis is placed on understanding how materials support language acquisition, cultural responsiveness, and instructional scaffolding across proficiency levels. Learners will critically analyze instructional resources for alignment with curriculum goals, learner needs, and TESOL best practices. Through hands-on projects, students will select, adapt, and design original instructional materials that integrate language skills with content objectives to meet the diverse needs of ELL populations. Prerequisite: Concurrent or Post Jr. Block.. Prerequisites: Junior Block EDUC 0321 , EDUC 0329 , and EDUC 0423
