Abstract Painting

Catalog description

Demand 3 Credit Hours Students will investigate a variety of abstract painting approaches. Painting strategies will include analytical reduction, structured nonobjective experimentation, and open-ended expressionism. Studio work will be supplemented with lectures, critiques, and writing to help students gain a deeper understanding of theoretical and historical discourse related to abstract painting. Six (6) studio hours per week. Prerequisite: ART 0232
