Catalog description

Fall, Spring, Summer 3 Credit Hours Introduces students to the study of art and art analysis while integrating each into the study of health and medicine. This course is designed to increase the student’s knowledge of art while enhancing their observational, critical thinking, communication, and analytic skills. The emphasis is to look, learn, and understand the beneficial relationship between the visual arts and health/ medical practice through the lens of the “medical arts”. Students will study through Art Analysis and Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) while also learning about Art Historical movements and the Elements and Principles of Design through various art media. Cognitive and critical process are used as they relate to the visual arts and the history of art and medicine. MOTR: ARTS 100
