Catalog description

Processes governing the formation of igneous and metamorphic rocks as constrained by geochemical, isotopic, and thermodynamic data, with particular reference to the relationship between rock suites and tectonic setting. The laboratory will emphasize the description of rock suites in hand sample and thin section. A field trip at the student's expense is required. Prerequisite: Geology 2611.
